Sunset Country, Ontario Campgrounds

The rocky Canadian Shield region is blessed with thousands of lakes and excellent woods. You can find both public and private camp grounds as well as RV parks where you can take your Recreation Vehicles and hook them up to local facilities. The excellent fishing in Sunset Country includes walleye, pike, bass, trout, and muskie. Some camp sites allow you to pitch your tents on the lake shores.

Lake Apsey Resort, Northern Ontario

Lake Apsey Resort is located in Espanola, Northern Ontario and offers a lakesite camp ground and full-service RV camping in addition to their cottages. Lake Apsey has walleye, northern pike, perch, small mouth and large mouth bass, and various pan fish. They also provide a fish cleaning station and freezer storage.

Tomahawk Resort, Lake of the Woods, Ontario

Tomahawk has been catering to RVs for sixty years. They have thirty pull-through or back-in RV sites with full electricity, water, and sewer facilities. These full hookup sites cost from CAN $40 to $50 per day. Another twelve sites have water and electricity for trucks and tent campers and cost $36 per day. The 1485 square mile lake has 14,500 islands and 65,000 miles of coastline. The excellent fishing includes walleye, trout, perch, pike, muskie, and crappie.

Island West Fishing Resort, Vancouver Island, British Columbia

Island West is located on the west coast of Vancouver Island in the inlet of Ucluelet. In addition to motel rooms and their fishing lodge, Island West cater to RV customers also. Full hook up sites are $35 per night and non hook up plus partial hook up are also available. The lodge charters its own boats to customers and there is some great saltwater salmon fishing off Vancouver Island.

Sheridan Lake Resort, British Columbia

Sheridan Lake is a spring-fed four thousand acre lake located in the Interlakes district of Cariboo Chilcotin. This area is well known for its trophy-size rainbow trout which engorge themselves all year long on the abundant shrimp and insect life in the area. Sheridan Lake Resort has a camp site in addition to their cabins. The camp sites cost $25 per night and have power and water facilities. Ninety RV sites with full electricity, water, and sanitation facilities are available for the mobile camper. Fish cleaning stations, freezers, and boat rentals can be found at the docks.

The Cove Ocean Front Campground, Nova Scotia

The Cove is located in the settlement of Parker’s Cove and provides guests with access to a quarter mile of shoreline directly on the Bay of Fundy. The campground is a resort park only and tents, trailers and RV motor homes are all welcome. Unserviced sites start at $29.95 a night and full-service sites range from $37.95 per night to $97.95 a night depending on size and view. The coho salmon remain in coastal waters throughout the year and fishing boats can be rented from the nearby community to hunt for the coho.
