There are many great luxury holiday options for parents and pet owners in Croatia. This country offers something for every kind of tourist with its Roman ruins and medieval towns, breath taking Adriatic beaches and scenic mountains. The Isteria peninsula is a gourmet’s paradise with its native cuisine influenced by nearby European, Asian and Arabic countries and exquisite truffles that are available year round.

Luxury Hvar Holidays

On the island of Hvar, families traveling with children and pets will be happy to know that luxury Amfora Hvar Grand Beach Resort and the Adriana Hvar Spa Hotel are both child and pet friendly. These facilities are self-contained and feature fabulous guest rooms and suites, great restaurants and on site bars for evening entertainment. The Amfora has a gorgeous cascading swimming pool while the Adriana has a roof top, year round, seawater pool.

Dubrovnik Luxury Hotels

Dubrovnik is less family oriented than Hvar. There is one family beach resort, the Lafodia Hotel located in nearby Lopud that has facilities for children and pets (dogs and cats only). The Kazbek hotel in downtown Dubrovnik accepts small pets but is not child friendly. The Pucic Palace is rated five stars and has a private beach, on site restaurant and bar and offers complimentary breakfast and internet. The hotel is pet and child friendly and is located on Gundulic Square near sites of historical and cultural interest.

There are some luxury hotels and resorts which are pet friendly but not child friendly and others which are happy to accommodate children but don’t accept pets. There are many 3 star hotels which cater to both children and pets in most of the tourist areas of Croatia, but those who really want a luxury vacation with the family might wish to consider a self-catering luxury villa or apartment. There are many luxury villas and apartments which accept children and pets with the owner’s permission.

Depending on the individual’s definition of luxury other options for Croatia holidays include renting a skippered yacht to tour the Dalmatian Islands, or taking an adventure holiday, hiking and biking through the beautiful countryside. For those who are not looking for a beach holiday, the largest city in Croatia, Zagreb has a rich history, many areas of historical and cultural significance and more museums per square foot than any other city in the world. Both the Zagreb Hilton and the Sheraton are rated 5 stars and are happy to accommodate children and pets.
