The Russian Ruble is the official currency of the Russian Federation, Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Each Ruble has 100 kopeks. The RUR or 810 code denotes the Russian Rubles before 1998 and the 643 or RUB code denotes the Russian Rubles after 1998. Although there is no official symbolism for the Ruble, the acronym RUB is used to denote Rubles. Let’s have a look at some of the renowned Russian gold Rubles:

Nicholas II – 10 Rubles 1899 AG. MS-62

This is an 1899 Russian gold coin of 10 Rubles of MS-62 grade. It weighs about 50 grams and has a rare grade.

Alexander III – Gold 10 Markkaa 1882 KM# 8.2. MS-66

This is an 1882 Russian Finland gold coin of 10 Rubles of MS-66 grade. It weighs about 50 grams and has a scarce high grade.

Nicholas I – 5 Roubles 1841 Bitkin 18, C# 175.1 MS-62

This is an 1841 Russian gold coin of 5 Rubles of MS-62 grade. It weighs about 50 grams and is a rare Russian gold coin.

Nicholas II – 10 Rubles 1902 AR. AU-58

This is a 1902 Russian gold coin of 10 Rubles of AU-58 grade. There were less than 30 coins certified in this and higher grade. It bears the St. Petersburg mint AP mark. Its weight is also 50 grams.

Nicholas I – 5 Roubles 1854 SPB AT MS-60

This is an 1854 Russian gold coin of 5 Rubles of MS-60 grade. It was un-circulated and has been certified by the NGC. This coin is very rare in mint state and contains the authentic mint luster. This coin weighs 50 grams.

Alexander II – 5 Roubles 1872. MS-61

This is an 1872 Russian gold coin of 5 Rubles of MS-61 grade.  This coin is extremely rare in mint state and is abundant with the authentic luster. The coin bears the original SPB H1 mint mark on it.

This is an 1899 Russian gold coin with very choice mint state. It is a 10 Ruble coin of MS-64 grade and bears the AG mint mark on it.

Alexander III – 5 Roubles 1888. AU-58

This is a 5 Ruble Russian gold coin of 1888 with an AU-58 grade. It has been certified by the NGC and has very limited circulation. The coin retains a substantial part of the original luster and has the AG mint mark on it.

Alexander III – 5 Roubles 1889. AG on Neck Cut Variety AU-584

This is a 5 Ruble Russian gold coin of 1889 with an AU-58 grade. It is an AG on neck cut variety that has a limited circulation. It bears the mint mark of “АГ” i.e. St. Petersburg mint, Appolon Grasgov and has a substantial amount of the original luster.
