Fuerteventura is one of the many Spanish Canary Islands off the west coast of Africa in the Atlantic Ocean. It is popular with tourists from all over the world because of its year-round warm weather.  As a result of the good weather there are many fun things to do in the sunshine, such as fishing, sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling, hiking, and many other things.

Fuerteventura  Water Park

One of the most popular attractions in Fuerteventura is the water park. The only water park on the island, Baku Water Park is located in Corralejo and is perfect for a full day’s outing with the family while on the island. The park does not just include the different water activities and rides, but also many restaurants, stores, ten pin bowling and even a golf course and driving range. The park is open during the summer months between 28 May and 16 September, every day from 10 am to 6 pm. They provide a special 2 day pass at 38 Euros per adult and 29 Euros per children and seniors. One day passes cost 25 Euros per adult and 19 Euros per child/senior. These prices do not include extras such as lockers, floating devices etc.

Fuerteventura Attractions Corralejo

Other than the waterpark, there are many other main attractions in Fuerteventura that are suitable for all kinds of people. One can take a tour around the island in an air conditioned bus that departs from Corralejo. Some operators do not require booking seats on these ahead of time, and can be caught from most hotels on the island on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Fuerteventura Zoo & Botanical Gardens

Great for the entire family is the La Lajita Zoo which does not have a lot of different animals, but does offer parrot shows and horse rides, and a beautiful botanical garden. Here the entire family can go on a camel safari as well. The one day pass costs 19.50 Euros for adults and 10.25 Euros for children. For meals there is an excellent seafood restaurant in the zoo.

Fishing Trips

One can also catch a ride and go fishing with professional fishermen, tuna, sword fish,  and shark fishing off Caleta de Fuste being the most popular type of fishing on the island. One can catch or reserve a fishing expedition from the stands/stores dotted on the countless public beaches. There are morning and evening tours depending on the type of fish to be caught. A meal and fishing equipment is included in the cost of the excursion. The costs vary but are usually 27 Euros for adults and 15 Euros for children.

Swim With Dolphins

One of the top main attractions in Corralejo is the dolphin safaris on the open sea. The trip includes sailing with the dolphins, as well as snorkelling equipment, and obviously food and drinks during the ride. These tours are available daily, and cost 60 Euros for adults and 30 Euros for kids.

Underwater Safari

People who are not afraid of confined spaces should also try going on an underwater safari to experience the diverse and rich marine life off of the island’s coast through viewing windows and live t.v.’s showing images from angles passengers cannot see. On such a trip one can expect to see Barracuda, sharks, as well as shipwrecks One can take this safari from Calte or from Corralejo. Prices are 70 Euros for adults and 40 Euros for children.

Jandia Fuerteventura Attractions

Of the three natural parks on the island of Fuerteventura, Natural Park Jandia is the biggest one and is perfect for people who enjoy being out in nature and like taking part in outdoor activities. Jandia is a peninsula on the southern part of the island. From the Morro Jable beach tourists can catch boats to go fishing, or hire out a catamaran.

Costa Caleta Fuerteventura Attractions

Costa Caleta used to be known as Calenta de Fuste. This part of the Fuerteventura island is most popular because of its calming, relaxing atmosphere. It has a marina from which one can appreciate the different boats. Costa Caleta is a more popular spot on the island for its nightlife provided by the various low-rise hotels situated there.

With the variety of unlimited activities and main attractions in Fuerteventura it is no wonder that it has become one of the most popular of all the Canary Islands.
