Serrano Campgrounds At Big Bear:

The Serrano Campgrounds located in the San Bernardino National Forest are one of the campgrounds that stays open all year long. As with any public campgrounds there are rules and regulations that must be followed to ensure a safe and pleasurable stay for all.

They ask you to only park on the pavement. Each site will have a limit on how many vehicles you can park there. The speed limit is a maximum of 10 mph. Campfires must be kept within the fire rings and also kept small. From the hours of 10PM to 6AM there are ‘quiet hours’ observed. You must keep your voices and radios down during these hours out of respect for others.

There are no firearms whatsoever allowed on Federal Campgrounds. That means no slingshots,
bows, or guns. You must bring water with you. Bathing or washing dishes at one of the hydrants is forbidden. Pets must be on a leash and cleaned up after.

As long as these easy rules are observed you can have a lot of fun at these campgrounds. The areas are beautiful landscapes with access to plenty of outdoor activities like fishing, hiking, snowboarding, off-road riding, swimming, boating, and more.

There are 98 tent sites in all along with 30 full hookup campsites. You can make your reservations as far as six months ahead and any cancellations should be within 72 hours of your camping date.

There are single and double sites. The singles will camp 8 people and one car. The double sites still camp 8 but give you an additional parking space. Each space is $5.00 a night.

The Full Hookup Sites also camp 8 people and consider an RV along with 2 vehicles as ONE vehicle ($5.00 a night). The rates for a Standard Non-Electric site runs from between $26 and $52. The RV Electric sites cost $36.

This example of the Serrano Campgrounds is for giving you insight into the types of campgrounds available at Big Bear. Some will differ in a few ways but most of them will have a lot of the same basic rules and amenities.
