On video the move flows. Held still, the grin locks in place and the whole pose stiffens into a kind of human origami. Judges gave the element high marks. The internet gave it a second, far longer life.
Flexibility drills produce moments like this in training every week, but training photos stay on a coach's phone. Competition photos land on front pages. The difference is the audience, not the athlete.
