Spanish Flags
Spanish Flags posts cover the current red and yellow national flag and the older designs that came before it. Articles look at the rojigualda colour combination introduced by Carlos III in 1785, the various coats of arms used in the centre under different regimes, the Republican tricolour flown between 1931 and 1939, and the regional flags of Catalonia, the Basque Country, Galicia, Andalusia and the others recognised in the 1978 constitution. There are also notes on the protocol around hoisting and lowering, on the use of the flag at Royal events and on the difference between official and ceremonial versions.
