The intriguing history of the founder F.A. Jones

Florentine Ariosto Jones was an American working for the renowned watch company E. Howard & Co. in Boston. He was deeply impressed with Swiss craftsmanship and had dreams of integrating Swiss craftsmanship and American technology to create world-class watches.

The prevailing high production costs in America at that point of time made him look at Switzerland as the labor costs there were substantially lower. This made him decide to relocate to Schaffhausen and venture into the business of watch-making with pocket-watches.
