The North Star has historically been used as a means of seeking guidance when moving through land and sea. It is also a symbol for the ancestry of black Americans. In current times however it is taken as a guide to pave the way for a better future.

Criticisms of the Black and White American Flag

Many people raise questions against the black and white American flag. They believe the original flag of the country represents all those who live in it including the blacks so there stands no need to produce a separate flag. Although it is true there exists a flag known as the Afro-American Flag it is considered to be inappropriate for the representation of the entire black community of America. The reason behind this is the reluctance of the Black Americans to relate to the existing flag due to the great number of other races associated with it.

The minds responsible for creating the black and white American flag expect to achieve self awareness within their race through the use of this flag. It is taken as a symbolic means of initiating a positive change from within the community.
