Born in 1974 to a close-knit family in Northern Sweden, Victoria Silvstedt went on to become one of the most popular, if not the most popular, Swedish super model in the world. The statuesque beauty stands nearly six feet, she has platinum blond hair, a sure head turner anywhere she goes around the world.
Silvstedt was not always the popular Swedish super model she is now. She was an athletically gifted young girl, and soon she found herself a member of the Swedish national ski team. In fact,she even managed to rank fourth place in the super giant slalom. Unfortunately, skiing was not good to her for the longterm. At about age 16, she had a career ending shoulder injury that forced her to the sidelines.
Her beauty accomplished much
A complete transformation in this Swedish super model’s life happened when her mother and sister secretly entered her name in the 1993 Miss Sweden Beauty Pageant. She won the right to represent her country in the Miss World Pageant. She landed the top 10 in Sun City, Africa in the said beauty pageant.
After her career as a beauty queen, a lot of doors opened up for her in the modelling industry. She transformed herself from a tomboy into one of the most popular Swedish super models in the world. Silvstedt made a name for herself modelling for big brand names like Christian Dior, Chanel, and a whole slew of other fashion industry icons.
Her biggest break was when she became the spokesmodel for Guess. She signed an exclusive contract and was for a time the body and face for the said brand.
Her Playboy years
Unexpectedly in 1996, Hugh Hefner invited the Swedish super model to do a “quick photoshoot” in the Playboy mansion. This quick shoot turned into a Playmate of the Month (December 1996) and eventually, a Playmate of the Year in 1997.
Suffice it to say, being a liberal European, Silvstedt has no regrets posing nude for the popular men’s magazine. She has since appeared for Playboy Special Edition and Playboy Videos.
Her spread in Playboy eventually opened up a lot of modelling and acting opportunities for her. She started posing for more mainstream magazines like Maxim and FHM. She also started acting on television and the big screen. Her most recent role was in Boat Trip, with Academy award winner, Cuba Gooding Jr. Today, Silvstedt is still a top Swedish super model. She is still making millions of Euros for product endorsements, acting, and her singing career.
