Egyptian gods
Egyptian gods posts cover the long polytheistic tradition of ancient Egypt with its main and local deities. Articles look at the creator gods Ra, Atum and Ptah, the family of Osiris, Isis and Horus, the desert god Set, the jackal-headed Anubis associated with mummification, the cat goddess Bastet, the falcon god Horus, the wisdom god Thoth and the god of the dead Anubis. There are also notes on how the same god could have very different forms in different cities, on Akhenaten’s brief monotheistic reform around Aten and on the Greek and Roman period syncretism.
