French Indian War
French Indian War posts cover the North American theatre of the Seven Years War, fought between 1754 and 1763. Articles look at the build-up around the Forks of the Ohio and the early defeat of George Washington at Fort Necessity, Braddock’s disaster on the Monongahela, the long siege of Louisbourg, the capture of Quebec by Wolfe in 1759, the fall of Montreal the following year and the Treaty of Paris that ended French rule in mainland North America. There are also notes on the role of the Iroquois Confederacy and on Pontiac’s rebellion that followed.
