The design is etched on a medallion and can be found in the back of the case in the special edition of this watch. The watch also features a date display and small hacking seconds and 9 o’clock. It also has a rotor with 18K yellow gold medallion and a convex sapphire glass with anti-glare coating on either side. Laureus Sport For Good Foundation
In collaboration with Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, IWC organizes a children’s drawing competition every year and the winning design is specially engraved on a medallion that is affixed in the back of the case of the special edition watch. The engraving on the medallion is a social message to the people that a portion of the sale price is contributed to the foundation for helping the various problems all over the world.
This year, the winner of the drawing competition was a 12-year old Sri Lankan boy named K. D. Sriyan Chamod Dilshan. He drew a picture of a group of four people standing in a circle holding hands to represent the motto of team spirit.
Activities
The foundation has helped establish the “Seenigama Sports project” in the year 2005 to help the Southern Province around Galle recuperate from the tsunami that devastated various lives there. Under this project, various games like volleyball, cricket, badminton etc have been organized for the children to divert their mind from the harsh reality and recoup from their trauma.
