Historical Interpretations of Black and White American Flag
There is however another side to the story that has nothing to do with the recession. The original concept of the black and white American flag was to depict the past, present and future of all the Black Americans living in America. The black in particular represents the past as well as the future. The black is also considered to be the backbone or the background of Black Americans. This is because the country was built through many sacrifices and black seems to be the appropriate color to depict the struggle. It is also taken as a representation of the present struggle of Black Americans to unit and initiate a social change.
The flag also features white stars that are used to represent the past and future as well. It is also meant to serve as a reminder of the North Star. Criticisms of the Black and White American Flag
Many people raise questions against the black and white American flag. They believe the original flag of the country represents all those who live in it including the blacks so there stands no need to produce a separate flag. Although it is true there exists a flag known as the Afro-American Flag it is considered to be inappropriate for the representation of the entire black community of America. The reason behind this is the reluctance of the Black Americans to relate to the existing flag due to the great number of other races associated with it.
