If you are looking to take a break from skiing the Breckenridge slopes, one of the more exciting options is to take a thrilling ride on the Gold Runner Alpine Coaster. The coaster is easily accessible at the base of Peak 8 between Rips’ Chairlift and the Kid’s Castle. All ages will enjoy this electrifying ride as the roller coaster races down the mountain peak with twists and turns on 2,500 feet of elevated track. Breckenridge visitors will enjoy this exhilarating ride as the roller coaster takes its riders on a journey through a winter wonderland of forests and ski trails.

Summertime coaster fun

Of course not everybody enjoys the colder temperatures at Breckenridge along with all the sports and activities that are offered during the winter season. For those people who fit into this category, there is good news. The Gold Runner Alpine Coaster also runs during the summer months as one of the more popular summer activities at the Breckenridge Resort. You can ride the coaster either in the summer or winter season from 9:30am to 5:30 pm daily at the rate of $18.00 for an adult ticket and $7.00 for a child between the ages of 3 and 7. It is important to note that children in this age group will need to ride in the same car with an adult. Children who are 8 and older must adhere to the guidelines of being 54 inches tall to be able to ride alone or can ride with an adult who is 18 years or older.

Not your normal roller coaster

The Gold Runner Alpine roller coaster is considered unique because of its location and use during the winter months. This coaster is also distinctive from the typical roller coasters you find in a standard amusement park as it has a 2 – seater coaster car which can be ridden alone or with a companion. It is also self-driven so you can control your own speed as it cruises along the turns and dips on the track. One thing is for certain, experiencing a thrilling ride on the Alpine Roller Coaster in either the winter or summer months is sure to be an adventure you won’t soon forget.
