Filling Ingredients

You will need about 20 ounce can sliced apples canned in water along with 1/2 cup white sugar, 1/2 cup packed brown sugar,1/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 tsp cinnamon ground, 1/4 tablespoon nutmeg ground,1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 cup melted butter and 1 9″ unbaked pie crust.

Streusel Crust Ingredients

For the crust you will need 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup white sugar, 2 tablespoon melted butter, a pinch of salt,1/4 cup chopped walnuts and about1/3 cup sweetened and flaked coconut.

Drain the apples and put them in a big mixing bowl, mix in all the other filling ingredients and fold in with a spoon or spatula.

Fill your unbaked pie crust with this filling and set aside. Use the same bowl to combine sugar, butter, salt and flour by hand or the pastry blender till the dough is flaky and crumbly. Now mix the walnuts and coconut into the flaky pastry dough. Sprinkle this crumbly mixture in an even layer on the pie. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 375 degrees for around 40 minutes or till the filling is bubbling and crust is golden.
