The Paris Landing State Park is located on the western shore of the Tennessee River and is 841 acres in size. At this point the Tennessee River has been enclosed by a dam to create the Kentucky Lake of 160,000 acres. This park is located on the three mile wide area of the lake and provides a perfect location for water sports like waterskiing, swimming, boating and fishing.
There are many activities which can be enjoyed on land at the Paris Landing State Park, such as golfing, camping, biking or taking in the sights of natural beauty and wildlife.
Paris Landing State Park Historical Significance
The Paris Landing State Park was named after a steamboat and freight landing service on the Tennessee River and was established in 1945. Back in the 1800’s that river was an important landing spot for the goods required to service the settlements off the region that could be accessed only by the river. From different goods and services including agricultural products, this landing site has provided good access along the Tennessee River.
Paris Landing State Park Conference Center
Although it is a family destination park, it is also equipped for conferences, wedding receptions, banquets or tradeshows. The 10,000 ft.² meeting and banquet space in the three conference rooms make up the conference center at the Paris Landing State Park.
The conference center can accommodate 1000 people at a time and the Inn has a further six meeting rooms with 5000 ft.² of space. Most of the meeting rooms look out to the Kentucky Lake and provide a beautiful location for important conferences, reunions and weddings.
Paris Landing State Park Restaurant
The spacious restaurant can seat up to 250 people and provides a beautiful view of the Kentucky Lake. You can relax in the serene environment and enjoy the wonderful buffet which comprises of Southern cuisine in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. Your conferences, reunions or wedding reception will be catered by the restaurant so you can relax and enjoy the services.
Paris Landing State Park Lodging
There are a variety of options for accommodation at the park. From campsites with electricity and water facilities and an Inn that has 130 guestrooms along with cabins and a group camp, there is ample accommodation at the Paris Landing State Park.
You can select one of the 18 primitive campsites, or the 45 camping sites and have options to select either three-bedroom or two-bedroom villas which are 10 in number.
The fully equipped villas have housekeeping facility with linen change, a fully equipped kitchen with a gas log fireplace, cable TV as well as a telephone. There is central air conditioning and heat available in the premises and you have to book it for a minimum of two nights stay. However, in the summers they are rented out on a weekly basis.
The campground has 45 sites with water and 30 amps of electricity, along with 18 primitive camp sites. The two bath houses and a dump station are functional from March to November and can accommodate recreational vehicles up to 38 feet in length. There is also a Launderette available at the site, and camping is available on a first-come first-served basis with no reservations.
