Italian Horns
Italian Horns are a horn-shaped charm worn as an amulet against the evil eye, called cornicello or corno portafortuna in Italian. Articles cover the southern Italian roots of the symbol, the traditional red coral material that is supposed to be most effective, the gold and silver versions sold today, the rule that the charm should be given by another person rather than bought for yourself, and how the cornetto differs from the unrelated cornetto pastry and the unrelated mano cornuta hand gesture. There are also notes on Naples as the centre of the trade and on common copies sold to tourists.
